I have been using PERFEX for testing dispatcher applicants for over 24 years. I have retained information on all candidates tested since 1983. (In simpler terms, it tells me whether or not they can handle multi-tasking).
Anyone can sit in a communications center and handle the mundane day to day routine radio traffic, but you as an agency, must hire the individual that has the ability to handle the job in emergency situations, when every decision has to be made quickly and accurately.
We test the applicants and rank them according to their test scores. When we make a recommendation to an agency, it is with great confidence that the person(s) selected have the ability to do the job.
